TommyCTech Real World Case Studies
Atlantic Tool Warehouse from the ground up.
The proprietors of a power tool reseller startup company approached TommyCTech needing help with a business name, brand, media, computers, network, point of sale, and a web site. After an evening of brainstorming the name Atlantic Tool Warehouse was agreed upon and a bar napkin logo was drawn up to be built upon.

Not very pretty, but an essential step in bringing the concept to life. The logo is based on 3 communicative elements.
1. Atlantic: Implies location. East Coast
2. Tool Warehouse: Implies the product and service. A warehouse full of power tools available for sale to the world. Which is exactly what it is. Nothing too complicated going on here.
3. The globe of the world with a swoop to imply the energetic activity of world wide commerce, by way of this companies strong foothold in internet sales.
The logo needs to be polished up a bit for a better feel for direction. The following simple rough draft was drawn up in Photoshop.

Looks pretty nice but not very interesting. The next step was to decide on a color scheme. After trying out a few ideas and consulting with the proprietors, a scheme is agreed upon. A few more textual elements are added for further refinement.

Next comes the Commerce web site.
